They required a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.witton.com\/services\/contract-manufacturing\/\" title=\"Contract Manufacturing at Witton Chemical\"> contract manufacturing partner<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.witton.com\/services\/product-development\/\" title=\"Product development at Witton Chemical\">scale up and manufacture <\/a>this new base polymeric material.<br\/><br\/><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scale up involved:-<\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Initial lab work using the purchased process showed an inconsistency in product properties due to low solubility of the initiator in the solvent required for further processing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lab work on an alternative more soluble initiator gave acceptable materials but would need to be validated by pilot plant trials to provide enough material for real world application testing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The customer wanted to scale up both processes to determine if their purchased technology gave the best performance:-<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A 1T trial was made using aliquot additions of initiator slurry every 5 minutes while this was not a practical process it demonstrated that the purchased technology did give the performance required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a01T trial was carried out using the alternative initiator Witton had suggested and this gave almost identical performance but with a commercially viable process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>The product is currently successfully manufactured to this 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0process.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-4982","case_studies","type-case_studies","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.witton.com\/de\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/case_studies\/4982","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.witton.com\/de\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/case_studies"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.witton.com\/de\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/case_studies"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.witton.com\/de\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4982"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
